Product Details
The network setup was such that from the ProCurve E2910-24G, J9145A Switch port 13 was connected to a third part switch. The en-user had two vlans configured. Vlan 51 was the internal network vlan, and Vlan 54 was the public network vlan.
The end-user was able to get Vlan 51 traffic to cross the egress Port 13 as he had tagged port 13 in Vlan 51 with the Vlan 51 tagged 13 command.
Vlan 54 traffic however would not cross through port 13. Port 13 was untagged in Vlan 54.
To get Vlan 54 traffic to cross port 13, the port needs to be a tagged member of Vlan 54. Making the egress port 13 a tagged member of Vlan 54 adds the 802.1q tag that will identify the traffic as coming from Vlan 54. Using the Vlan 54 tagged 13 command allowed the traffic on Vlan 54 to cross the egress port 13 to the third party switch.
