Product Details
The WL-8310 is an IEEE 802.11g Wireless PCI card, while the WL-3560 is an IEEE 802.11g PCMCIA card. They both can operate in either Ad-Hoc mode (Point to Point/Point to Multipoint without an Access Point) or Infrastructure mode (Point to Point/Point to Multipoint with an Access Point). With almost 5 times the data rate of traditional 802.11b products, they are suitable for multimedia applications which require more bandwidth. They operate in the 2.4GHz unlicensed ISM band, and are compliant with both the 802.11b and 802.11g standards. This dual-standard support allows for greater flexibility of deployment and use.
The WL-8310 is provided with a detachable dipole antenna that can be replaced with optional external antennas to obtain better signal quality and greater connection distances.
The WL-8310 and WL-3560 support both 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) for securing wireless network connections. The driver and utility supports most popular operating systems: Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003. With advanced features and high performance capability, the WL-8310 and WL-3560 are excellent choices for constructing a wide range of wireless solutions.
